Econ Min says Russia may replace some US goods for China

GORNO-ALTAISK, republic of Altai, Aug 7 (PRIME) -- Russia and China are in talks on various fields of cooperation including Moscow’s replacement of some U.S. goods for China and shifting China to the Russian market, Economic Development Minister Maxim Oreshkin said on Wednesday.

“China sees Russia as a reliable supplier of all products, unlike the U.S. partners. We are in active talks with our Chinese partners on shifting China to the Russian market and (selling Russian goods) in China in agriculture and other sectors,” he said.

“China’s economy will face tense times, but we hope it will not impact the Russian–Chinese relations. Our trade turnover grew to U.S. $108 billion last year and positive dynamics are seen this year.”
